If you would like to be considered for coverage in Foundwaves, please first consider the following:

  • With very few exceptions, our coverage is built around promoting live shows that our readers can attend.  You are much more likely to get coverage if you keep that in mind and submit when you have a show to promote.
  • Foundwaves generally covers indie, rock, alternative, and electronica genres with occasional coverage of other genres.  You can listen to the range of artists we have previously cover here.  We have a small staff and ask that you are considerate of our time and not submit unless you feel your music fits into what we normally cover.

Before contacting us, please carefully review our submission guidelines.  If your submission does not follow these guidelines, it will not be considered.

  • Include the name of the band or bands in the subject, followed by an indication of what it is you’re hoping to have covered (e.g. The Example Band will be performing at the Middle East on May 7)
  • Please link to attach some press photos.
  • Please link to or attach 1 or 2 Mp3s.  Each must be less than 8mb in size.  Please indicate which Mp3s we could offer as free downloads and which ones can only be streamed.  We recommend that you authorize at least one Mp3 as a free download since it really helps to generate interest in the band.
  • If you have music videos or live videos you would like us to feature, please send us the links.
  • Let us know if you can provide some merchandise that we can give away to our fans.
  • Let us know if you can give us 1 or 2 guest list slots to the show.  This makes it easier for us to send out our contributors to cover the show.
  • Please keep your cover note extremely brief.  We make decisions based on how the music sounds and whether or not it is something our readers will be interested in.

The bottom line is that the easier you make it for us, the more likely we will be able to cover you.

Once you are ready to make a submission, please send it to press@foundwaves.com.
